GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Feb. 23, 2017) – Hospice of Michigan recently earned a 2016 Hospice Honors designation for providing excellent care to patients and families within Grand Rapids, Muskegon and communities throughout western Michigan. Quality care delivered by the Hospice of Michigan teams operating out of the Ada and Muskegon, Michigan offices earned the nonprofit hospice and palliative care agency a spot among only four providers across the state to receive the national recognition.
Hospice Honors are based on results of the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®) survey. Issued across many health care disciplines, the CAHPS survey measures many aspects of consumer and patient satisfaction, including communication skills of providers and ease of access to health care services. The survey is administered by Deyta Analytics, presenters of the award.
All Hospice of Michigan families receive the evaluation highlighting 24 quality indicator measures 30 days following a loved one’s passing. The western Michigan staff received Hospice Honors for scoring above the national average on more than 20 of the survey’s questions over a six month period.
